We always use good quality materials, always look after your property, always clean up as we go. Electrical repair, maintenance, and installation services in Coventry and surrounding areas. The current UK wiring regulations recommend regular safety inspection reports for all types of electrical installations. Doing this helps prevent fires that could devastate your home or business premises, or hidden faults that could result in electrical shock.

If the EICR should reveal any problems with your electrical wiring, we can provide a free quote to put it right, or you may use the report to get another quote elsewhere. Since 2016, the wiring regulations in the UK require all new consumer units in dwellings to be made from non-combustible materials, i.e. metal. This is to provide enhanced fire protection in the event of a fault that starts inside the consumer unit.

It makes sense to upgrade your old fuse box or consumer unit if it does not meet this important new standard. Whether it be a new lighting design for the kitchen, garden lighting and/or water features, Ring Doorbell camera, Nest or Hive heating controls, Alexa controlled lighting and appliances, decorative socket and switch fronts or anything else, we can help you to make your home look the way you want it to look.

Nearly all new domestic electrical work will require RCD protection to comply with the current regulations.
Many older consumer units (commonly known as fuse boxes) won't have RCDs, and so will need upgrading (ie replacing) before any work is carried out.
RCDs are potentially life saving devices, so having them installed properly and in correct working order is crucial.
The best way of complying with the current regulations when having new electrical work done is to renew the consumer unit.
If your fuse box looks like this, chances are there is no RCD protection to your property, and is an indication of the age of the electrics is your home.
There are no set guidelines as to when a property should be rewired.
Just because your wiring's old, it doesn't mean it's unsafe.
Many factors can affect the wear and tear of your electrical installation, including the materials used and how your property has been used.
The NICEIC advise that a periodic inspection (sometimes referred to as an EICR) is carried out on domestic properties at least every 5 years.
The inspection will show whether the electrics in a property are safe, and if anything needs upgrading.
