In 2012 after working with Steve for 6 years and completing my NVQ Level 3 and having a full understanding of my job I then became self employed and started G Johnson Electrical.
For the first 12 to 18 months I was subcontracting to Steve at least 2 days a week whilst I was building my own client base up.
Now nearly 5 years on business is better than ever, I have just taken on another apprentice as well as having other sparks who work alongside me and subcontract to me, including Steve.
Having worked in the trade for 12 years now I have gained a lot of skills, not just electrical but general building and project managing, and got to know some other great tradesman including plumbers, joiners, builders, roofers, plasterers, tilers and decorators.
