Since 2005 Part P of the Building Regulations has come into force to ensure safety standards for electrical installations in the home.
Most domestic work now legally requires notification to the Local Authority Building Control (LABC) department.
Once work is completed the customer is provided with an Installation Certificate, and where appropriate a Building Regulations Compliance Certificate from the ELECSA to state that work complies with Part P.
